Then the Lord said to Moses, “Leave this place, you and the people you brought up out of Egypt, and go up to the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, saying, ‘I will give it to your descendants.’ “…But I will not go with you, because you are a stiff-necked people and I might destroy you on the way.”  When the people heard these distressing words, they began to mourn and no one put on any ornaments. Exodus 33:1‭, ‬3‭-‬4 NIV

There is no news or an experience in life that is as bad or so distressing as to hear that God had decided to step aside and refused to accompany His people any longer. This sudden and sad development was so regrettable that God’s people couldn’t continue life as usual. They put away their festive dresses because they knew that life is miserable without the presence of God. Indeed, it’s a terrible disaster for anyone to forfeit the presence of God in the journey of life.

The implications of losing God’s presence include loss of divine guidance, divine protection, divine safety and divine provisions. This unfortunate experience puts God’s children at a greater disadvantage and subject them to live but under the bondage of Satan and the godless world system.

God’s decision to take away His presence will invariably make God’s people vulnerable to confusion, unnecessary and constant conflict, loss of inner peace that results in incessant molestation, attacks and violence.

Usually, what will make God step aside and withdraw Himself from you is your inability to take heed to His Word and your willful rejection of His counsel. So, I pray for you this day that the LORD God will help you to love Him supremely, obey Him fully and walk faithfully before Him all the days of your life so that He may also continue to be with you wherever and anywhere you go in this world. Good morning and do have a glorious day.

Your brother,
