“… So Joseph went after his brothers and found them near Dothan. But they saw him in the distance, and before he reached them, they plotted to kill him.  “Here comes that dreamer! they said to each other. “Come now, let’s kill him and throw him into one of these cisterns and say that a ferocious animal devoured him. Then we’ll see what comes of his dreams. Genesis 37:17‭-‬20 NIV

We all faced with different forms of warfare at different times in life. Sometimes, those who rise in opposition against us are usually the least persons we expect to find doing so. However, the Scripture is very apt in saying that “a man’s enemies are the men of his own house” (Micah 7:6).

It is unthinkable that the brothers of Joseph deliberately hated him and plotted to slay him from malice forethought and in cold blood. What was the basis for this? It was because their father loved him and because of his dreams.

The understanding of the basis for your struggles in life will go a long way in positioning you for the victory or the otherwise. The fundamental truth you must know is this, can anyone stop God’s purpose? Certainly not! The word of God in Proverbs 19:21 says, “There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.”

In actual fact, it was not Joseph that his brothers were conspiring against but God who gave him the dreams. It was God’s purpose which He wanted to accomplish through Joseph his brothers were to abort or thwart. But are they equal to such a task? Definitely no! Joseph was just a vessel or a channel, it was God who was at work in him both to will and to do according to His good pleasure. Therefore, It is impossible for a mere mortal to stand in the way and frustrate the plans of the Immortal God, the Creator of all humans.

If you yourself will arm yourself with this understanding, you will not need to struggle against any flesh and blood just like Joseph never struggled with his brothers. Rather, he committed himself to Him who judges righteously and he steadfastly looked unto Jesus, the author and finisher of his faith.

At last, God did not only preserve and rescue him from his conspirators, He did bring to pass all his dreams. May the Lord God help you this day to learn only to cast all your burdens upon Him, consistently look unto Him and trust Him to fight all your battles which are not actually yours but His and watch Him as He crowns you the champion eventually in Jesus name. I wish you a refreshing weekend.
