THE LIFE OF COURAGE AND OBEDIENCE
The Lord replied, “I have forgiven them, as you asked. Nevertheless, as surely as I live and as surely as the glory of the Lord fills the whole earth, not one of those who saw my glory and the signs I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness but who disobeyed me and tested me ten times— not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath to their ancestors. No one who has treated me with contempt will ever see it. But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it. Numbers 14:20-24 NIV
God’s Unchanging Standard
God by nature is very meticulous. He gives full attention to every minutest detail in the life of His children. Certain behaviour or action that may escape the ordinary eyes of men may not escape God’s scrutiny.
The depth of God’s knowledge that a man exhibited at a time, the measure of faith, courage and obedience shown and the level of the sacrifice and commitment demonstrated to advance His purpose on earth are all in the full glare of our God.
The Correct Measure of Life
While it may be “convenient” for you to follow God halfheartedly or serve him just as it’s seems good to you in your own way or at your own time; you must know this, partial obedience, procrastinated obedience, delayed obedience, selective obedience are altogether not equal to obedience. While all of them may appear safer or easier for you, what God looks for before your life can be pleasing to Him is absolute, full and complete obedience.
The Outcome of a Life of Obedience
It is impossible to wafer in your obedience to God and still experience His best for your life. You will never be able to reach the depths of His love and goodness until you have learnt and determined to lay your ALL on His altar. The favour He shows and the joy He bestows are for them who will TRUST and OBEY. May the Lord God help you to reach the heights of His knowledge where nothing in life shall be able to stand in your way to please God in Jesus name. Good morning and do have a blessed day.
Reflection
Whatever hinders me from living an obedient life is not worth holding on to.
