“Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot” I Peter 1:18‭-‬19 ‬

Kidnapping is a common trend in our days particularly in Nigeria. Once a person is abducted, it becomes a necessity for his relatives to begin negotiation with his captors in order to secure his release and avert the loss of his life in captivity. The release is usually not free, it always accomplished by paying certain amount of money as ransom, huge some for that matter.

Similarly, as a result of sin: disobedience to God’s command, every mankind was captured by Satan who held us in his bondage and subjected us to oppressions, sorrow and grief. However, in our own case there is no kinsman that is rich enough to meet the demand of Satan for our release because everyone is a captive of the tyrant, the Devil.

At last, God sent Jesus, His only Son to be our Kinsman Redeemer. He went to the cross and made the greatest transaction in human history not with perishable SILVER and GOLD but with His PRECIOUS BLOOD, He paid the ransom once and for all to secure your freedom from slavery, your justification from condemnation, your deliverance from captivity, your reconciliation from enmity.

By implications, you are now a son of God, Abraham’s seed and heir according to the promise. You have been set free from all GENERATIONAL CURSES and brought under GENERATIONAL BLESSINGS courtesy the ransom paid by Jesus by His life which He exchanged with your own life on the Cross where He died over 2000 years ago. Congratulations and Happy Easter Celebration!
