“What makes you think I want all your sacrifices?” says the Lord. “I am sick of your burnt offerings of rams and the fat of fattened cattle. I get no pleasure from the blood of bulls and lambs and goats. When you come to worship me, who asked you to parade through my courts with all your ceremony? Stop bringing me your meaningless gifts; the incense of your offerings disgusts me! As for your celebrations of the new moon and the Sabbath and your special days for fasting— they are all sinful and false. I want no more of your pious meetings. Isaiah 1:11‭-‬13 NLT

It is neither the size nor the quality of your offerings that moves God but the quality of your life. Bogus offering, extravagant sacrifices and loud worship are not what God so much desire from His people but a lifestyle of consistent obedience to His commands.

You cannot buy off the favour of God nor bribe Him with what you offer to Him. Any act of worship that does not flow from a life that is wholly yielded to God and committed to doing His will is a futile worship and an abomination to Him.

Who you are before God supersedes what you offer to God. So, as you prepare to appear before God today in worship, take heed first to your life before you stand in His presence to offer your gifts to Him. I pray  the Lord will help your life to be a living sacrifice to the Lord your God. Good morning and happy Sunday.
