The child grew and was weaned, … But Sarah saw that the son whom Hagar the Egyptian had borne to Abraham was mocking, and she said to Abraham, “Get rid of that slave woman and her son, for that woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with my son Isaac.” The matter distressed Abraham greatly because it concerned his son. But God said to him, “Do not be so distressed about the boy and your slave woman. Listen to whatever Sarah tells you, because it is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned. Genesis 21:8-12 NIV

The birth or the process that brought forth Ishmael to the world was at the initiative or instruction of Sarah to Abraham. Now Abraham has no other choice than to obey Sarah over any matter that affects the boy and his mother.

Likewise, for you to avoid any unnecessary crisis and conflict of interests that will always bring you displeasure or regret in life, you must be patient and never to run ahead of God.

God will eventually fulfill His promise and He will not delay in His coming to bless you as He has promised in His time. Choosing the alternative way apart from God and going in haste or by flight to receive what God has promised you by your own method will eventually bring along with it monumental pains and anguish.

No matter the heat and the pressure coming upon you now, be courageous never to abandon the ancient path of holiness and righteousness in order to be “blessed.” God will never disappoint you, He will surely remember and recompense you at last. May the Lord give you the fortitude and courage to remain in His will and following in His way till the end. Good morning.

Your brother,

Olufemi Babalola.
