RECEIVING YOUR PROMISED INHERITANCE
The Lord our God said to us at Horeb, “You have stayed long enough at this mountain. Break camp and advance into the hill country of the Amorites; go to all the neighboring peoples in the Arabah, in the mountains, in the western foothills, in the Negev and along the coast, to the land of the Canaanites and to Lebanon, as far as the great river, the Euphrates. See, I have given you this land. Go in and take possession of the land the Lord swore he would give to your fathers—to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob—and to their descendants after them.”
Deuteronomy 1:6-8 NIV
God by His nature, does not set people free only for them to remain on the mountain top to enjoy His presence. Rather, He expects His people to make progress in their journey to the place He promised to give them as inheritance.
Also, victories in the Christian life are not won by mere wandering and hiding out in the wilderness, but in taking over the Promised Land and fulfilling God’s purposes for our calling in the world. Every of the wonderful encounters we experience in the presence of God on the mountain top are to serve both as an encouragement and strengthen us for the battle ahead of us in our pilgrimage.
All the promises of God are real, true and certain to come to pass. However, until you take the practical steps of obedience you cannot receive what has been promised. While it is God’s responsibility to give the promises and provide the supernatural supports, it is also your duty to rise in the arms of faith with courage, enter into the place promised to you and possess your possession. May the Lord Himself increase your faith and give you the boldness to receive the inheritance promised to you in Jesus name. Good morning.
