“And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth. And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord .  And Hezekiah prayed unto the Lord …”.

Tribulation in the World

Sometimes, certain situations and circumstances of life appear so terrible and terrifying. At such moment, we become so overwhelmed, depressed and despaired to the point that we think even God cannot help.

Power in Prayer

But the truth is this, when you think your situation has defied prayer, the best approach or step to take is to pray. When you cry out to the Lord God Almighty in prayer, He will surely not ignore or despise your voice. He will notice your plight, send you the needed help and rescue you from all your troubles. When He does that, you are not the only one to benefit, the world will see God’s goodness and favor bestow on you and also learn that only trust in Jesus brings deliverance.

The Word Works

Therefore, I encourage you not to be overwhelmed with the various news, views and reports flying around. Rather, turn to God and allow Him to speak to you from His Word. Only what God says is the truth and final. Once you have heard His view, hold on to His Word and take to your knees in prayer for the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous is very powerful. Just as God can do nothing except by His Word, He can also do nothing except in response to prayer. So, pray now and you will yet praise Him. May the Lord strengthen your heart and your knees to persist in prayer.

Good morning and do have a joyful weekend.

Reflection

God sometimes speaks one way, sometimes another.

The question to ask is, “How do I tune in so that I can hear him even in prayer?”
