Now there was a famine in the days of David for three years, year after year; and David inquired of the Lord. And the Lord answered, “It is because of Saul and his bloodthirsty house, because he killed the Gibeonites.” So the king called the Gibeonites and spoke to them. Now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; the children of Israel had sworn protection to them, but Saul had sought to kill them in his zeal for the children of Israel and Judah. II Samuel 21:1‭-‬2 NKJV

As it were, in this life, there cannot be smoke anywhere without fire. There is usually a cause for every effect in life. God will certainly not permit any adverse situation in the life of His children without any genuine reason for it.

However, it is necessary for you as a child of God to seek God’s perspective of any negative circumstances and be sure of God’s counsel over the prevailing condition before you form your opinion on whether your condition is a demonic attack, a trial of your faith or, a direct punishment from God as a result of sin.

Certainly, the serpent cannot easily bite except an edge has been broken somewhere, sometime, and by someone. Also, the lion will not roar except if there is prey. It is not good to be presumptuous or to be quick to blame anyone for your misfortune, it is wise to first look inward.

Don’t just accept the status quo, when things are not right the way they should be, always go to God to seek His counsel. God will surely bring to the light whatever is hidden away from you. The God whom you serve is the Light and there is no darkness in Him at all. You cannot follow after Jesus Christ and remain still in the darkness. I pray the glorious light that shines in the face of Jesus Christ will expose every darkness over and around your life today, every secret behind your affliction shall be exposed and destroyed. Complete deliverance shall be your portion today in Jesus’ name. Good morning and happy and blessed Sunday.
