Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.” So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” Exodus 3:1-4 NKJV

God uses different situations or circumstances to gain our attention. But many times we miss God’s activity designs by Him to draw us to Himself because of our failure to turn aside from following our own plans and agenda.

You cannot continue going in your own direction and expect to arrive at divine destination where your joy, rest and fulfilment is in life. Until you are able to turn around from every distraction, daily routine and duty to look at God’s activities around you and focus only on God you will not hear God clearly speaking to you. And until you hear His voice, your understanding of His purposes and His ways for you remains unclear if not unknown.

The plans of God for you are by greater, higher and wider than you can ever imagine or comprehend. His love for you will not allow Him to abandon you at your current level, location or
station in life. His plan is to bring you to the centre of His will where there is great fulfilment, peace and rest for you both here on earth and hereafter in eternity. May the LORD God help you today and always to turn aside from everything that distracts and hinders you from giving Him the needed attention. Good morning.
