Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed. Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said, “So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’  Hebrews 4:1‭-‬3 NIV

As it were, every work and activity of God that He does in anyone’s life is only by His Word. God’s Word is the means through which He reveals Himself, His plans, and His ways to everyone. In short, every purpose that God intends to execute in our lives comes to us initially by promise. Once God has made His promise, He is committed to it to bring it to pass in His time, by His means and at His terms because by His nature God cannot lie nor change His mind.

However, the fulfillment of every promise of God is only for the obedient, those who after they have heard the Word, believed Him who has spoken and held steadfastly to what has been promised till it comes to pass eventually.

It is not sufficient to hear or receive God’s promise by His word only, it is also crucial that you activate the power in the Word through faith. Except the Word of God mixes with faith in you and you are determined to hold tenaciously to what you have heard till the end, the Promise will bring you no profit and you cannot experience the wonder of His Word.

It is only those who have believed that will receive what was promised and enter into His rest while those who disbelieve are sentenced to eternal damnation and sorrow. I pray the Lord Jesus will grant you the capacity to give more earnest heed to His Word, He will help you not to drift away into the deceits and lies of the devil no matter how long it takes Him to fulfill His promise in your life in Jesus’ name. Good morning and do have a flourishing weekend.
