It happened on the same night that the Lord said to him (Gideon), “Arise, go down against the camp, for I have delivered it into your hand. But if you are afraid to go down, go down to the camp with Purah your servant, and you shall hear what they say; and afterward your hands shall be strengthened to go down against the camp.” Then he went down with Purah his servant to the outpost of the armed men who were in the camp. Judges 7:9‭-‬11 NKJV

With feeble hands or a weak heart shall no man prevail in battle. What we see with our eyes and the kind of news we hear with our ears go a long way to determine the condition of our hearts. Negative news breeds fear and discouragement in the heart.

A fearful and fainting heart will produce a man with a feeble and weary hand to hold the sword and handle the bow and arrow at the battlefront. Lack of courage to confront and attack the enemy will render one defeated eventually.

On the contrary, a heart that is saturated with the revelation of God’s Word produces faith, courage and supernatural strength to stand, engage the enemy and win the battle. Therefore, beware of those whom you surround yourself with and the kind of news, views and reports you listen to.

God has not appointed you for failure, frustration and defeat in life, career or ministry. If you will look away from your environment and listen attentively to the revelation of God’s Word to you, your heart will be encouraged and your hands shall be strengthened to fight and win the battle. May the LORD God cause you to hear His voice today and may your heart be encouraged and your hands be strengthened to emerge victoriously in the task God has assigned you in life in Jesus’ name. Good morning.
