“… ‘I am the Lord your God. You must not do as they do in Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. Do not follow their practices. You must obey my laws and be careful to follow my decrees. I am the Lord your God. Keep my decrees and laws, for the person who obeys them will live by them. I am the Lord. Leviticus 18:2‭-‬5 NIV

Your redemption from sins and the godless world system confers upon you certain privileges and responsibilities. As a redeemed, blood-washed, and Spirit-filled child of God, you have been dedicated to God and His holiness.

You are now God’s treasured possession chosen for Him and His purposes. You have become responsible to God your Redeemer, who by His grace and mercy saved you from slavery and brought you into His own Kingdom.

Likewise, your relationship with God must be unrivaled, unequal, and unadulterated. You must reject unholy alliances and conformity to the pattern and the practices of the world. This however is not isolation from the world, but consecration to God.

God’s Words, decrees and statues become your guiding principles for everything you do as you daily live in this world. Your willingness to live in obedience to God’s commands is your guarantee for the abundant life promised to you by God. May the Lord help you to live and walk worthy of Him and fully please Him so that you may enjoy the full benefits of your redemption and not be found wanting in Him on the last day. Good morning and do have a blessed weekend.

Your brother,
