BEWARE, SELF DESTRUCT IS ONE STEP AWAY
Uzziah was sixteen years old when he became king, and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem…. And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord , according to all that his father Amaziah had done. He sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God; and as long as he sought the Lord , God made him prosper. But when he was strong his heart was lifted up, to his destruction, for he transgressed against the Lord his God by entering the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense. II Chronicles 26:3-5, 16 NKJV
One of the dangerous but avoidable pitfalls in the Christian life is the temptation to substitute God with our achievements, success and brilliance. To become proud, insolent after God has made us
and to think we are who we are and have what we have all by our own strength is a dangerous thought with a devastating end.
The way out of self conceit is to always remember that it is only with Jesus living in you and you abiding in Him you can remain fruitful, flourishing and bringing glory to God. And, the only way to keep Christ at the center of your life is to die daily that is, to keep all your fame, accolades, honors and medals UNDER the rule of Jesus Christ over your life (1 Cor. 15:31; 9:27).
Except you’re determined to die daily to self, to sin and to world system, easily you will be hunted down from the platform of grace upon which God has made you to stand in Christ and consequently forfeit everything the Lord by His grace and mercy has freely given you. May the Lord Jesus keep you near His cross daily that you may continue to enjoy your victory over sin, self and Satan. Good morning and do have a blessed day.
