And no man takes this honour to himself, but he who is called by God, just as Aaron was. So also Christ did not glorify Himself to become High Priest, but it was He who said to Him: “You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.” As He also says in another place: “You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek”; Hebrews 5:4‭-‬6 NKJV

Most of the bickering, crisis and division we experience in the Church today either at the local level or at the denominational level are traceable to selfish interest or selfish ambition, especially in the leadership.

Unfortunately, offices that are meant to strengthen and help to build up the Church of God have become instruments in the hand of the enemy to weaken and disintegrate the Church of Christ thereby rendering it from fulfilling its mission in the world.

By God’s design, no one can assume any office or position of responsibility in His Church except God has called him or appointed him. The call of God is usually evident to all and acceptable to all because of the corresponding life and grace that God bestows upon whomever He has called or appointed to do anything.

Even Jesus Christ, our Lord never attribute to Himself or assume duty in any position, title or office. He waited till He was called by God,  introduced and declared to be His Son and His Messiah (the anointed One).

Why should the Church suffer a setback or be divided on the account of your own personal interest, desire and ambitions? Remember, it was Jesus Christ that died and shed His blood for the redemption of His Church. You were saved and admitted only by grace. Therefore, beware of how you conduct yourself in the Church of the living God and never allow yourself to be hijacked by the Devil to destroy what God is building. Grace and peace be multiplied unto you.
